Dystopic Future

A speculative urban proposal that fuses indoor agriculture, AI-driven form exploration, and a civic knowledge hub.

Description

At its core, the project is a nexus of innovation, a fusion of technology and nature that defies the conventional boundaries of urban design. The project uses AI tools to generate images that allow imagination for form, intricate spatial configurations, and possibilities that extend beyond traditional methodologies. The lower levels of the building house the planting rooms and indoor farmlands, where rows of hydroponic towers and automated cultivation systems hum with the rhythmic pulse of life. Here, amidst the artificial glow of lights and the soothing hum of irrigation systems, a diverse array of crops thrive in the controlled environment, their vibrant colors a stark contrast to the monochrome landscape outside. But it is on the uppermost level of the City Lung project that its true purpose is revealed—a vast library, a repository of knowledge that spans the breadth of human history and beyond. Here, amidst the hushed whispers of scholars and the soft rustle of turning pages, visitors immerse themselves in the wonders of botany and agriculture, exploring the intricate symbiosis between humanity and the natural world. The library of the City Lung project is more than just a repository of books—it is a living, breathing testament to the resilience of life in the face of adversity in the dystopic future. Its shelves are lined with ancient tomes and cutting-edge research papers, its walls adorned with interactive displays and multimedia exhibits that bring the wonders of the natural world to life in stunning detail. The “data center” is envisioned as the library of a futuristic data institution in which city residents can freely browse internet content—a dystopic sci-fi city life reimagined.
